S + B at Sunset Terrace

The only direction we got from Shallon was that she wanted her November wedding at Sunset Terrace to look like a luxurious fall bacchanal meets a classy James Bond film. Sometimes the aesthetic direction we get from clients are pretty vague, but we immediately jumped on it. Sunset Terrace is a blank slate when it comes to decor, so we decided to install some hanging greenery by the dance floor, and lush and asymmetrical pieces for the ceremony. Main floral elements were in shades of deep wine red, white, and dark plum - with peonies, anemones, amaranthus, Queen Anne's lace, and brunia berries, accented by gilded eucalyptus leaves. Fruit like pears and split pomegranates added an organic touch to the tables. Gold-painted books were added as a structural element to the centerpieces - a subtle nod to Shallon being a published author.

Congrats again, Shallon and Brent - this was an amazingly fun wedding to do and you were such an easy bride to work with!

C + C at Mulan Restaurant (Part Two!)

Part two of Courtney and Calvin's wedding celebrations was a more intimate dinner held at an upscale Flushing restaurant. The color theme was red and gold - red being the color of luck and fortune. The head table was surrounded by a falling water installation, creating an ultra-modern "curtain" of sorts that framed the area. Suspended above the head table were manzanita branches decorated with cherry blossom blooms and orchids, and glass orbs with LED lights. Red floral elements included dahlias, tulips, garden roses, ranunculus, peonies, astilbe, cymbidium orchids, and gloriosa lilies. Courtney and Calvin have become part of our family and we appreciate them referring us to their friends! We look forward to more events with this wonderful couple.

A & N's Wild Urban Garden Wedding

Alex and Naomi's wedding last summer was another one of our favorites from 2013. We fell in love with their urban garden theme - and their choice of venue was perfect. They chose The Park, a restaurant right off the High Line decorated with leafy green palms and a number of impressive trees planted right into their floors. Naomi's bouquet of white, feminine flowers was balanced out by wild, vibrant greens and it complemented the delicate, feathered neckline of her gown. We wish the couple all the best! J & H at Battery Gardens

We love couples who are ready for anything that may happen on their big day. Henry and Jovi didn't let 32,000 bikers riding by ruin their day and instead incorporated them into their shots! Congratulations to the newly wedded couple! Photos by Ron Soliman, flowers by Ivie Joy.
