Christina and Lance's wedding at 501 Union last October was the first time we did an exotic fall-themed wedding with deeper, darker jewel tones. When we first chatted with Christina, she wanted bright colors with pops of blue, but ultimately changed her mind to dramatic reds and purples (we're so glad she did!). The one thing that stayed the same was her love of proteas - both the pincushion and honeypot/king sugarbush variety.
Incorporated throughout the floral elements of her wedding were lots of proteas, garden roses, scabiosa blooms, clematis, serruria, thistles, eucalyptus, flowering kale, and berries. Trailing jasmine, hanging amaranthus, seeded eucalyptus, and purple basil added some leafy texture, and ornamental pineapples were in some arrangements to add a fun twist to centerpieces. On each table setting was a miniature succulent in a shot glass that acted as both place-card holder and guest favors.
Best of luck to the happy couple, and thank you Aliza for the referral!
