The start of a new year puts us at IJF into "restart" mode. We meticulously organize and gather our notes for the year's weddings, schedule meetings with freshly engaged couples, and pore over design blogs and magazines for inspiration. A new year also means we need to mentally and physically prepare for the year ahead - Ivie likes to de-stress with bikram yoga, while I prefer the simpler method of ice cream therapy. The stacks of manila folders we have for each event can be intimidating but we appreciate the fact that 2015 already has plenty of events lined up to keep us busy.
2015 will mark my second year with IJF. I started out as a part-time production assistant and eventually moved up to project manager and client services director. Not bad for someone who started off picking stamens off gloriosa lilies on their first day, right? Even though this job can be exhausting and kicks my butt most of the time, seeing something that I've designed and worked on for months finally come together makes it completely worth it. I'm not the biggest optimist, but I'm looking forward to our 2015 weddings and events. Everything I've learned from 2014 - every mistake, every accomplishment - will continue to improve the way I work and approach future projects.
With much love and appreciation,
p.s. 2015 is the year of the yang... you know I got this.
